Myths and Legends

Put pictures of Excalubar, Jason and a couple of legendary Maori chiefs on a display board and you can create a colourful display about myths and legends. Not to mention the possibilities that Chinese, African and Aboriginal dreamtime stories offer.

Get all your myths and legend book off the shelves and display them in front of some legendary figures. Success assured!!!

What you need:

  • copied and enlarged images myths and legends books
  • coloured paper
  • gold coloured wrapping paper
  • blu-tack/stapler/tape/guillotine/scissors/ruler

What to do:

Myths and Legends display I used gold coloured wrapping paper on all three boards but created on each board a different colour border.

I used images from a previous display (stored in our display cabinet) and copied from our library books. If needed I enlarged the images and together they make a very powerful display. Some of the images were pasted over the borders to create an atmosphere of freedom and a beyond the horizon feeling.

Myths and Legends display; staple examplestaple exampleThe staples are hardly visible because I used the lines and shapes of the images to staple at and that deceives the eye.

The clear lines, bright borders and plenty of room between the images create a sense of space. It makes this display very accessible.
