Animal Display
Posted on October 3rd, 2008 by Anita

This is a very straight forward display with beautiful images from an old calendar a colleague gave us.I had just started working in my new job and was not sure how adventurous I could be see: barriers to creative thinking) and what I was allowed to use, so I kept it very simple.
What you need:
- calender/book images
- coloured paper
- banner with ‘Animal display’
- blu-tack/stapler/tape/guillotine/scissors/ruler
- pin-cotton and blu-tack device to hang pictures streight (see: International Baccalaureate)
What to do:
Nowadays I would approach the topic much more creative with, for instance, the images laminated and cut in the shape of the animals (see: sea life display) A few green branches between the images to suggest that you are looking through foliage. Or a safari type background (see: dinosaurs display) and toy animals placed on the shelves. A controversial panther hat or fake zebra skin (2 dollar shop) dramatically draped around the bars would attract the attention. And of course a couple of hanging objects (bats, monkeys, snakes) for a 3D effect (see: display tips) etc.
Maybe even cover up the background with crumbled yellow brown paper to suggest a dry Serengeti-like environment.
